OPENING BULLETIN
Somewhere in Tehran, a hospital is treating the wounded from last night’s strikes. Down the street, a building that once housed Iran’s Supreme National Security Council is rubble. Across the city, people who had nothing to do with centrifuges or missile programs are pulling their dead from the debris. The United States calls this precision. Iran calls it a war of extermination. The world, filling its tank at $110 a barrel, is beginning to wonder who is right.
This morning, Iran’s Assembly of Experts named Mojtaba Khamenei, son of the assassinated Supreme Leader, as the Islamic Republic’s third supreme leader. The IRGC has pledged its allegiance. The war is ten days old. There is no ceasefire in sight.
